Perfect

Single moment frozen in life.

Fragile echoes framed, floating on forever.

Shimmer, snap-flash, sparkle, and shine.

We were perfect once upon a time.

Nonsense fires noise into the fray.

Tiny cracks show through, it’s all about to change.

Our Lip-locked trauma turns upon romance.

And we were perfect once upon a time.

Yes, we were perfect once upon a time.

Smash the million pieces a million more.

Let’s play the grown up game, tear down this sideways home.

Walk the compass one eighty out of phase.

Still we were perfect once upon a time.

Cast demons back to hell from whence they came.

Throw on some golden charms just like on some board game.

Let Remembrance absolve us clean of all our crimes.

Because we were perfect once upon a time.

Yes, we were perfect once upon a time.

I How's this for odd... I put down the first verse of this in March of 1999 and closed the file on it.  I just opened the file a few minutes ago and finished it 6 years and 4 months later like I never left of.  You think it would be much better with a gap like that between the first line and the last!

If I were shopping for a theme for this one... I would say that it is probably about being young and dumb then distant and lost then loved and found then appreciative for every broken footstep you can still see behind you... even if it is faint... even if you think you regret ever stepping through.
